Job summary

Ford & Stanley Group is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Site Supervisor to oversee field operations across the UK, coordinating site teams and ensuring strict adherence to project plans and safety standards.

You will manage labour, subcontractors and plant, read and interpret drawings, and report progress to management. A Full UK Driving Licence and strong leadership are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Site Supervisor/Foreman on civil/infrastructure projects.
  • Experience on highways, rail, or construction projects.
  • Strong health and safety knowledge on sites.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read drawings and construction docs.
  • Good organisational and planning abilities.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Geotechnical Site Supervisor

Location: UK Wide (Travel Required)

Salary: Competitive + Vehicle/Allowance + Benefits

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Supervisor to join a growing ground engineering and asset preservation team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of infrastructure, highways, rail, construction, and ground improvement projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise day-to-day site activities and coordinate site teams.
  • Manage labour, subcontractors, plant, and materials.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with project specifications and approved methodologies.
  • Monitor progress against project programmes and milestones.
  • Conduct quality inspections and maintain site records.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Promote and enforce a strong health, safety, and environmental culture.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, engineers, and project managers.
  • Identify and resolve site issues in a proactive and professional manner.
  • Produce daily reports and communicate project updates to management.

Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, Site Engineer, Foreman, or similar supervisory role.
  • Experience working on civil engineering, infrastructure, highways, rail, or construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements on construction sites.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Good organisational and planning abilities.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
  • SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • CSCS Card.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • NRSWA, PTS, or other industry-specific certifications.
  • Experience in ground engineering, remediation, or specialist construction works.
