Job summary

Natural Power is seeking a Geotechnical Site Engineer to join our Construction team from our Stirling or Glasgow offices. The role is primarily site-focused, delivering geotechnical projects with emphasis on safety, planning, and collaboration with engineers and drill crews.

You will contribute to field data collection, open communication with the Projects team, and execution of planned geotechnical investigations, while maintaining cost control and timely delivery on site.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years geotechnical field experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and field tablets.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

  • Site management and supervision of geotechnical sites and drilling activities with weekly progress reporting to the wider team, time tracking and ensuring work is safe, on time and within budget.
  • Support geotechnical engineers and lead drillers with field data collection and logistics.
  • Participate in safety culture and team discussions on site.
  • Assist with in-situ testing and works planning for geotechnical campaigns.
  • Coordinate site logistics, supervision, and client interactions as required.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking to strengthen our Construction team with a Geotechnical Site Engineer, based out of our Stirling or Glasgow offices. This role will be primarily site-focused and will contribute to the delivery of our exciting upcoming geotechnical projects.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Site management and supervision of geotechnical sites and drilling activities with weekly progress reporting to the wider team, time tracking and independent self-discipline to deliver all work safely, on time and to budget.
  • Collection of geotechnical information in support of geotechnical engineers and lead drillers in all drilling, logistics and maintenance activities as required.
  • Open participation in safety culture and contribution to team discussions.
  • Conducting in-situ testing in assistance of geotechnical engineers.
  • Works planning and execution.
  • Logistical and supervision support for geotechnical investigation campaigns.
  • Professional team and client interaction.
  • Attend regular meetings with Projects teams on site and at our yard / offices if necessary.
  • Commercially focussed and cost conscious able to identify opportunities and improve efficiency.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Relevant Earth Sciences BSc (Hons) degree, or Civil Engineering degree with geotechnical interests or demonstrable engineering geology content.
  • A minimum of 2 years Geotechnical Field Experience.
  • Experience working in the field on geotechnical sites.
  • Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Certified or equivalent.
  • CDM 2015 and Geotechnical Safety Management.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly with Outlook and working with tablets.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
  • First Aid Certified

This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week.
