Job summary

Ian Farmer Associates (1998) Ltd, a geotechnical ground investigation company, has an opening for an experienced Geotechnical Laboratory Technician in our UKAS-accredited lab in Washington, UK. You will perform tests on soil, rock and aggregates and assist with equipment calibration.

Qualifications

• 5+ GCSEs including English, Maths and Science.
• Experience in geotechnical or materials testing lab.
• Good numeracy and literacy; clear written communication.
• Good IT skills, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests on soil, rock and aggregate samples to high safety/quality standards.
• Understand test methods and why samples are tested.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment.
• Ensure work quality is high and delivered timely.
• Handle sample receipt, storage and disposal.
