Job summary

Structural Soils, a member of the RSK Group, is seeking a Geotechnical Laboratory Technician to join the Bristol, UK team. You will perform soil tests, record results accurately and support routine geotechnical testing following standard methods.

The role demands meticulous data handling, routine calibration of equipment, and strict adherence to SHEQ procedures in a dynamic lab environment. Training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in testing soil such as water content, Atterberg limits, particle size distribution, and particle density.
• Organised and methodical with good literacy and numeracy.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 kg and stand for periods.

Responsibilities

• Carry out soil testing and sample analysis according to standard test methods and procedures.
• Record data accurately for subsequent analysis.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment used in geotechnical tests.
• Adhere to SHEQ procedures and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Assist in documentation and storage of samples.
• Identify and report deviations from procedures.
