Job summary

Structural Soils, a member of the RSK Group, invites applications for a Geotechnical Laboratory Technician based in Castleford, UK. You will perform soil tests, record data and support documentation in a busy geotechnical lab.

The role requires methodical work, good numeracy and communication skills, and the ability to handle equipment safely. Training and development are provided within a supportive, equal-opportunity environment.

Qualifications

• Previous geotechnical testing laboratory experience or interest in a laboratory technician career.
• Organised and methodical approach to work.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• High literacy and numeracy levels.

Responsibilities

• Carry out testing on soil and samples according to standard test methods.
• Record test data accurately for analysis.
• Conduct routine geotechnical tests following procedures.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Adhere to SHEQ procedures and maintain a clean workspace.
• Assist in documenting and storing samples.
• Identify and report deviations from procedures.
