Job summary

Fugro in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, is seeking a Geotechnical Laboratory Scientist to join our on-site team. Based at the Wallingford Laboratory, you will perform geotechnical tests, interpret data, and contribute to quality systems in a collaborative environment.

This full-time role requires a relevant science degree, experience in regulated labs or geotechnical testing, and strong numerical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related technical discipline.
• Experience in a regulated laboratory or geotechnical-testing environment.
• Strong numerical, analytical and communication skills.
• Understanding of laboratory health and safety; ability to work standing.
• Preferred: Excel, Microsoft 365 or LIMS experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical laboratory tests per procedures and standards.
• Generate, process and review test data; check calculations and results.
• Identify anomalies and support investigations and corrective actions.
• Apply ISO/IEC 17025 and laboratory quality systems; support audits and quality reviews.
• Support safe and timely delivery of laboratory programmes.
• Contribute to method development, validation and continuous improvement.
• Share knowledge and promote safe working practices.
