Job summary

Amey Ltd is offering an Industry Placement in Geotechnical Engineering in Birmingham. The starting salary is £26,582 with a 40-hour week, starting September 2027. This placement provides hands-on experience with Amey Consulting, working on diverse UK infrastructure projects and learning from industry experts.

You'll contribute to desk studies, site investigations, inspections, calculations and design reports while rotating across geotechnical tasks with supported guidance from senior staff.

Qualifications

• Currently studying Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology or a related subject.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Produce desk studies to determine risk and suitable solutions for design with safety first and foremost.
• Plan and supervise ground investigations to inform geotechnical interventions.
• Carry out geotechnical asset inspections on major infrastructure in Rail and Highways sectors.
• Propose solutions to engineering problems and perform calculations and analysis to determine their suitability.
• Prepare specifications, drawings and design reports.
• Deliver multidisciplinary schemes in collaboration with colleagues from across the Amey Consulting Business.
