Network Rail in Glasgow is seeking a Design Engineer - Geotechnical to join our Engineering Services team. You will shape and manage geotechnical design from early feasibility through to construction support, ensuring safety, sustainability, and value for money across regional and national schemes.

The role requires an engineering degree, knowledge of rail design standards, and the ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifikationen

• Engineering degree or equivalent training.
• Strong evaluation and decision-making skills.
• Working knowledge of rail engineering and related disciplines.
• Ability to work and communicate in a team context.
• Understanding of rail infrastructure life cycle stages.
• CDM, risk assessment and external audit competency.

Aufgaben

• Shape and manage engineering proposals from early development to detailed design and construction support.
• Collaborate with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders to develop design options.
• Ensure compliance with standards while balancing safety, performance and environmental impact.
• Monitor progress, manage change and support construction design management.
• Contribute to cross-disciplinary reviews and technical guidance.
