Job summary

SOCOTEC UK & Ireland is seeking an Assistant Geologist / Engineering Geologist to support ground investigation and geotechnical services within our Infrastructure division.

You will work independently and with a team, applying BS5930:2015 guidance, and contribute to logging soil and rock, in-situ testing, and the planning and supervision of investigations. This role offers hands-on field exposure with mentoring and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in geotechnical discipline.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Logging soil and rock in accordance with BS5930:2015.
• Performing in-situ testing and sampling to current technical standards.
• Assisting with the planning and supervision of ground investigation projects.
