Job summary

Plowman Craven is seeking a Geospatial Surveyor to join the Infrastructure Division from our Harpenden office. You will deliver high-quality data using laser scanning, UAS and Amberg track trolleys, while supporting rail/highway projects nationwide.

You will work with senior staff to choose methods, ensure safety and data accuracy, and progress within a collaborative team, with opportunities to advance your surveying career.

Qualifications

• Around 3-5 years' surveying experience, ideally in a rail environment.
• A relevant qualification in surveying and/or civil engineering.
• Strong experience in traditional survey techniques, including control traverses, levelling and GNSS.
• Experience with survey and CAD software; N4ce, Cyclone and AutoCAD are advantageous.
• Organised, self-motivated and able to solve problems under pressure.
• Full UK manual driving licence (company vehicles available).
• CSCS card required; PTS and LU-WSSI desirable, with company-supported training available.

Responsibilities

• Choose suitable technology and methods for each project.
• Carry out surveying and technical work to company standards.
• Take ownership of allocated parts of projects, including logistics.
• Check survey data and deliverables against specifications and accuracy requirements.
• Manage project data from capture through to final delivery.
• Report progress to the project team so deadlines and budgets are met.
• Coordinate with other site teams and subcontractors, and support junior surveyors.
• Work nationwide, with night work and travel around 50% of the month; weekends available.
