Job summary

Plowman Craven Limited is seeking a Senior Geospatial Surveyor to lead on-site surveys within our Infrastructure division across rail, highways and related projects. You will plan surveys, select technologies, manage field teams and ensure high-quality outputs to technical standards.

Joining the Infrastructure team, you will mentor junior surveyors, coordinate with project managers and clients, and drive survey quality through rigorous QA and interface management.

Qualifications

• Substantial surveying experience, typically five or more years, capable of leading site teams on infrastructure projects.
• Relevant qualification in surveying, geomatics or civil engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• CSCS card required; PTS/LU-WSSI desirable with training available.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate surveys, determine methods, equipment and programme.
• Lead complex field surveys across rail, highways and infrastructure projects.
• Establish, verify survey control, levelling and GNSS networks and ensure accuracy.
• Take responsibility for technical quality of surveys, review data and deliverables against specs.
• Coordinate fieldwork, processing and data handovers, ensuring traceability and storage.
• Collaborate with clients, site teams and managers to resolve queries and manage risks.
• Contribute to method statements and risk assessments; mentor junior staff.
• Coach and develop members of the Infrastructure team.
