Plowman Craven Limited is seeking a Rail Surveyor to join our Digital Construction – Rail team, delivering specialist surveying across rail and highway environments nationwide. You’ll work with Lead Surveyors, Project Managers and delivery teams to produce accurate survey data using laser scanning, UAV, and Amberg Track Trolleys.

We’re looking for 3–5 years in rail/infrastructure surveying, a surveying or civil engineering qualification, and strong IT skills with CAD software.

Formación

• 3–5 years surveying experience, rail or infrastructure preferred.
• Qualification in Surveying or Civil Engineering.
• Strong IT skills with CAD software; N4ce, Cyclone and AutoCAD advantageous.
• Experience with laser scanning, UAV or track surveying equipment.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving; able to work independently.
• Full UK manual driving licence; willingness to travel nationwide; occasional nights/weekends.
• CSCS card; PTS and LU‑WSSI desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Identify surveying technologies and methodologies with Lead Surveyors and Project Managers.
• Undertake surveying and technical activities across rail and highway environments with QA/Safety standards.
• Manage survey data from capture through to final delivery following processes.
• Ensure outputs are accurate, high quality and client-ready.
• Own assigned project elements including logistics and planning with the broader team.
• Communicate progress, support deadlines and help keep projects within budget.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors and on-site teams.
• Mentor junior surveyors to develop technical capability and on-site experience.
