Job summary

Amentum in the United Kingdom is seeking a motivated Junior Geophysicist with 2+ years' experience to join our Subsurface Solutions team within Earth and Environmental Operations. You’ll bridge data collection and engineering solutions for environmental, defence, and energy projects in a hybrid role across the UK.

You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team, perform field data acquisition, advanced processing, and technical reporting while developing bid capabilities and project planning skills

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial engineering or environmental geophysics environment.
• Proficiency in GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) and geophysical processing software.
• Willingness to travel to remote sites in the UK and overseas when required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication tailored to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support geophysical surveys using in-house equipment (ERI, GPR, EM, HVSR).
• Assist in designing survey programmes and integrate findings with geotechnical teams.
• Support third‑party surveys onshore and near‑shore with field supervision.
• Process data with Res2DInv/Geolitix and interpret 2D/3D seismic datasets.
• Prepare technical reports with clear visuals and recommendations.
• Maintain field equipment and uphold Health & Safety standards.
