Job description

Travis Baker at RSK Group is recruiting for a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join the team based in Halesowen, Birmingham. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Geosciences team provides consultancy and design services to a range of external clients including engineers, house-builders, oil companies, and local authorities. Due to continued growth and some exciting new projects, Travis Baker is expanding and needs an experienced Geo-Environmental Engineer to support an exciting and varied project workload in a growing office. Details of the position are below:

Responsibilities:

• Participating in various geo-environmental projects for external clients and internal teams
• Assisting with ground investigations and desk studies
• Soil logging to current UK standards, including laboratory scheduling
• Soil sampling and water monitoring/sampling
• Writing factual and interpretative reports
• Geotechnical reporting (beneficial)
• Knowledge of contaminated land legislation and reporting requirements
• Travel to other offices and sites within the UK as needed

Qualification and Experience:

• BSc or equivalent in Geology, Environmental Science, or similar
• MSc desirable but not essential
• Working towards membership of a relevant professional body with a long-term goal of chartership
• Basic knowledge of planning legislation
• Experience in site inspections and reporting, preferably on residential developments
• Ability to complete factual and interpretative assessments at a basic level
• Ability to deliver projects within a multi-disciplinary consultancy
• Effective management of time and resources within budget
• Full UK driving license
