Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a proactive Geo-Environmental Consultant in Birmingham with hybrid working arrangements. You will design Phase 2 investigations, supervise site work, and deliver reports spanning risk assessments and hydrogeology aspects.

The role emphasizes CPD, teamwork, and delivering high-quality outcomes for major UK infrastructure projects across energy, water and transport sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g. geology, geography, hydrogeology, chemistry, earth sciences, environmental science). Working towards Chartered Membership.
• Post-graduate experience in a consultancy environment delivering work on-time, on-budget and to quality.
• Experience in land contamination/brownfield land issues and site-based supervision of soil/gas leachate ground/groundwater monitoring and sampling.

Responsibilities

• Organise and assess Phase 1 Contaminated Land Desk Studies and oversee Phase 2 site investigation design.
• supervise soil sampling, logging and on-site contractor activities on brownfield sites.
• Prepare factual and interpretative reports, develop conceptual site models and assess risks to human health and the water environment.
• Support remediation design, implementation and verification, and contribute to CPD and training.
