Job summary

Synnovis in London seeks a Genomics Programme Manager to lead a national genomics transformation project, coordinating digital, scientific, operational and commercial workstreams. You will shape the roadmap, manage senior stakeholders and ensure delivery within a 18-month window.

The role requires extensive experience in complex, multi-site programmes, strong financial governance, and proven ability to drive change across regulated laboratory services.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent senior programme delivery experience.
• MSP, APM PPQ/PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent recognised programme/project management qualification.
• Extensive experience leading complex, high-value transformation programmes in a multi-site, multi-stakeholder environment.
• Proven delivery across digital, operational, technical and infrastructure workstreams with significant interdependencies.
• Experience directing project managers and workstream leads, with responsibility for integrated planning, governance, assurance and executive reporting.
• Strong financial management, procurement/vendor oversight, benefits realisation and change control experience.
• Experience managing implementation, validation, migration, operational readiness and safe go-live of regulated services or systems.
• Strategic leadership with the ability to translate clinical, scientific and operational requirements into a coherent roadmap and deliverable outcomes.
• Excellent executive-level communication, influencing, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Advanced programme planning, critical-path, dependency, risk and problem-solving capability.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to secure value for money.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities and maintain delivery momentum.
• Competent with Microsoft 365, MS Project or equivalent planning tools, Teams and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrated programme plan, maintaining oversight of the critical path, milestones, resources and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
• Lead delivery of the enterprise Genomics LIMS, overseeing configuration, system integration, data migration and go-live activities.
• Oversee establishment of the Whole Genome Sequencing service, including lab readiness and validation activities.
• Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary delivery teams, providing leadership and clear accountability.
• Establish and maintain effective programme governance and assurance with executive reporting and scope control.
• Own programme-level risk, issue and dependency management with escalation as needed.
• Manage programme finances and commercial performance including budgets and procurement.
• Ensure outputs meet quality, safety and regulatory standards such as ISO 15189, UK GDPR, and DSPT.
• Own benefits realisation and change management to ensure sustainable BAU ownership.
