Job summary
Eurofins UK Clinical Diagnostics in Guildford invites applications for a Laboratory Assistant role in the Clinical Genetics lab. You will assist in accession, handling and processing samples including NIPT, referrals and DNA extraction, ensuring labels are accurate and procedures followed.
The position requires a bioscience degree, knowledge of molecular biology, and experience with SOPs, MS Office and lab equipment.
Qualifications
- Requires degree level in biosciences or related field.
- Knowledge of general molecular biology techniques (PCR, RNA/DNA extraction, quantification).
- Experience in a molecular biology lab and handling diverse samples.
- Ability to follow SOPs and procedures with attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Receipt and handling of samples with accurate labelling.
- Perform downstream processing of clinical samples.
- Ensure ISO 15189 compliance in all work.
- Follow SOPs and written instructions.
- Operate liquid handling robots, PCR machines and NGS instruments.
- Keep records up to date.
