Job summary

Great Bear in Manchester is seeking a General Warehouse Operative to pick stock and orders, loading customer pallets onto trailers with MHE and ensuring accurate quantities. You will uphold Health & Safety standards and maintain tidy, compliant warehouse operations.

Role requires teamwork, reliability, and the ability to follow procedures while adapting to training on MHE. This is a full-time position based in Manchester with inclusive benefits and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Minimum PPT/Electric Pump Truck experience is essential for this role.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-moving environment.
• Training will be provided to operate MHE.
• Must possess verbal & numerical reasoning.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Adaptable approach to training.
• Conscientious and reliable.
• Good working attitude.
• Previous experience in a similar environment desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with warehouse procedures for reporting damages.

Job Description

• Pick stock and orders from set locations within the warehouse.
• Loading customer pallets onto trailers using MHE
• Ensure the correct amount of product is picked
• Maintain high levels of Health & Safety at all times
• Maintaining high levels of housekeeping throughout the warehouse
• Maintain good communication with Team Leaders and Managers
• Monitor and maintain the required housekeeping standards.
• Maintain Health and Safety via compliance with risk assessment guidelines ensuring that any issues are brought to the attention of the warehouse Team Leader and Manager.
• Ensure compliance with warehouse procedures for the reporting of damages
• Ensure compliance while checking / operating MHE equipment

Qualifications

• Minimum of PPT/Electric Pump Truck experience is essential for this role.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-moving environment.
• Expected to operate all MHE required to deliver operational requirements both current and future- training will be provided
• Must possess a reasonable level of verbal & numerical reasoning
