Topcliffe CofE Academy in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, is seeking a General Teaching Assistant to support a classroom teacher. The role requires flexibility, resilience and a patient approach to inspire and motivate learners. Start ASAP, with the closing date noted below.

The ideal candidate will hold NVQ Level 2 or above and have strong literacy, numeracy and communication skills, plus safeguarding knowledge and health & safety awareness.

• Work under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Support learning activities and assist with lesson delivery.

• Contribute to safeguarding and safety procedures in class.
• Assist with preparation and organisation of learning materials.

Hours of work: 11.25 hours p/w (2 days per week)

Location: Thirsk, North Yorkshire - Topcliffe CofE Academy

We are seeking to employ a General Teaching Assistant to work under the direction of the classroom teacher. You will require the ability to be flexible and resilient as well as demonstrating a patient approach and the ability to inspire and motivate.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Relevant NVQ level 2 or above (essential)
• Good level of applied literacy and numeracy
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety
• Proactive and innovative approach to challenges and ideas, plus strong problem-solving capabilities.
