Job description

This vibrant school is seeking an enthusiastic and committed General Science Teacher to join the Science department for the 2025–2026 academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to contribute to a dynamic and supportive team.

Duties as a General Science Teacher:
  1. Teach General Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 (opportunities to teach a specialism at KS4/KS5 if suitable).
  2. Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students' scientific knowledge and skills.
  3. Mark, assess, and provide feedback in line with school policies to support pupil progress.
  4. Monitor student attainment and contribute to intervention strategies as needed.
  5. Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and schemes of work.
  6. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
Ideal General Science Teacher:
  1. A qualified teacher (QTS essential) with a strong knowledge of the Science curriculum.
  2. Someone who can teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics confidently at KS3 and combined Science at KS4.
  3. A reflective and enthusiastic educator with strong behaviour management skills as a General Science Teacher.
  4. A team player who values collaboration and shares best practice.
