Job summary

Coolings Nurseries Limited is seeking a part-time General Assistant for Coolings Lifestyle in Knockholt. You will join a team that values friendly customer service and keeping things organised on the shop floor, including helping customers and processing payments.

The role requires reliability, good communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with duties such as stock display, deliveries, and promoting the Coolings brand.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service is advantageous but not essential.
• Own transport is essential as public transport is unreliable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Providing friendly and helpful customer service on the shop floor.
• Advising and assisting customers and handling enquiries.
• Operating an EPOS till system and taking payments.
• Putting out stock and keeping displays well presented.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised shop floor.
• Assisting with deliveries and completing delivery notes as required.
• Supporting the wider team with general duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing friendly and helpful customer service
• Advising and assisting customers on the shop floor
• Operating an EPOS till system and taking all forms of payment
• Putting out stock and keeping displays well presented
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised shop floor
• Assisting with deliveries and completing delivery notes as required
• Supporting the wider team with general duties as needed
• Promoting and enhancing the Coolings brand

Key Skills & Requirements:

• Previous retail or customer service experience would be an advantage but is not essential
• Own transport is essential as public transport to us is not reliable
• Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, flexible and willing to get involved
