Job summary

Mears Group PLC is seeking a General Operative for the Hammersmith & Fulham contract to support essential repairs and maintenance across occupied and void properties. You will perform emergency make safe work, groundworks, fencing, wall repairs and general maintenance as part of a team while delivering high‑quality customer service.

The role requires a full UK driving licence; trade qualification is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out general repairs and maintenance works.
• Knowledge of emergency make safe repairs.
• Understanding of groundworks.
• Experience with fencing and wall repairs.
• Good all-round household maintenance skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Trade qualification desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out emergency make safe repairs.
• Undertake general repairs and maintenance works.
• Complete fencing, wall and groundworks repairs.
• Assist with scaffold-related and larger repair projects where required.
• Work across both occupied and void properties.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service.
• Work safely and in line with company procedures.
• Accurately complete job records using a PDA device.
