Job summary

Mears is seeking a General Operative to support responsive repairs and maintenance on the Hammersmith & Fulham contract. You will visit domestic properties, carry out general repairs, assist with larger projects and ensure homes remain safe and well maintained.

You will perform emergency make-safe tasks, undertake general repairs and maintenance, and uphold high standards of workmanship and customer service while following safety procedures. A full UK driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out general repairs and maintenance works.
• Knowledge of emergency make safe repairs.
• Understanding of groundworks, fencing and wall repairs.
• Good all-round household maintenance skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Trade qualification desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out emergency make safe repairs
• Undertake general repairs and maintenance works
• Complete fencing, wall and groundworks repairs
• Assist with scaffold-related and larger repair projects where required
• Work across both occupied and void properties
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service
• Work safely and in line with company procedures
• Accurately complete job records using a PDA device
