Herefordshire And Worcestershire Health And Care NHS Trust invites applications for a GP with extended role (GPwER) to join Worcestershire Community Paediatric service. The role involves 4 sessions (0.4 WTE or 16 hours) weekly with 2 clinic sessions and 2 admin sessions, based at Covercroft Centre, Droitwich, with clinics across Worcestershire.

A holistic approach within a multidisciplinary team is essential. Salary ranges from £78,699 to £118,759 per year pro rata.

Qualifications

• Primary Medical Qualification and GMC registration with license to practise.
• MRCGP or equivalent to gain entry to GP performers list.
• Full GMC registration to practise in the UK.
• Experience in paediatrics at core trainee level or above; ability to prioritise workload and safeguarding competencies.

Job summary

• We are seeking a GP with extended role (GPwER) to join Worcestershire Community Paediatric service.

Main duties

There is 1 substantive post of 4 sessions (0.4 WTE or 16 hours) per week available but consideration will be given to other flexible arrangements that meet the needs of the applicant and the service. 2 sessions will be clinic sessions and 2 sessions will be corresponding admin time.

As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide medical assessment of children presenting to our service. Prior experience is desirable but not essential - however an aptitude for a holistic approach to patients and ability to work as part of multidisciplinary team is required.

The postholder will be based at Covercroft Centre, Droitwich and will be expected to conduct clinics at various sites across Worcestershire.

Salary

£78,699 to £118,759 a year pro rata per annum

Job responsibilities

• An excellent clinician who can bring their General Practice expertise to the community paediatric service.
• Ideally, experience of managing children with developmental concerns as part of their current or previous placements / jobs / rotations.
• Enthusiasm to develop their knowledge and skills in community paediatrics.

Essential qualifications and experience

• Primary Medical Qualification
• MRCGP (or equivalent to gain entry to the national GP performers list)
• Entry on the GMC GP Register
• Full GMC registration with license to practice
• Experience of paediatrics at core trainee level or above
• Ability to prioritise workload effectively
• Safeguarding to at least level 3 competencies
• Detailed knowledge of the management of patients with complex medical presentations
• Knowledge about the NHS and understanding the evidence base underpinning the delivery of high-quality services
• An aptitude for a holistic approach to patient management

Desirable

• In depth knowledge of principles of governance/audit.
