Job summary

Practice Plus Group is recruiting a General Practitioner for HMP Hewell in Redditch. You will focus on receptions and new intake, delivering first-night and discharge prescribing and urgent follow-ups for the duty doctor. Work with senior nurses, provide clinical assessments, and contribute to governance within a secure healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• MBChB or MBBS qualification and GMC registration.
• Evidence of annual appraisal and CPD.
• Experience as a GP in community/general practice.
• RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2 desired.
• Ability to work with patients with substance misuse issues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver first-night and discharge prescribing; urgent follow-ups for duty doctor.
• Provide clinical assessment and timely management decisions.
• Act as a clinical resource to the healthcare team on site.

Job description

We hav e an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Hewell, a category B remand prison based in Redditch, Worcestershire. HMP Hewell has a fast paced healthcare environment delivering care to males aged 21+, with a range of needs including substance misuse and long term conditions.

T his position will be focused on receptions, supporting the new intake of patients. Within this role, you will be working closely with our senior nurses to deliver f irst-night prescribing, discharge prescribing, urgent follow-ups for duty doctor, and substance misuse prescribing.

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £125,468 per annum FTE depending on experience.

+ Golden hello payment of £3,500 (pro rata for part-time), paid in instalments over 24 month period.
