Job description

Dr.Dropin is seeking an adaptable, tech-savvy GP Practice Lead to balance high-quality patient care with operational excellence and practical business growth. You will split your week between 2–3 days of direct patient care and 1 day of dedicated administrative time focused on practice governance, CQC compliance, and expanding our GP service offerings.

In this role, you will deliver excellent face-to-face clinical care while ensuring our practice runs smoothly, safely, and in full alignment with CQC regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Practice (2–3 days/week): Deliver face-to-face patient consultations, manage daily clinical queries, review daily blood tests and investigation results, handle OOH cover routing, and oversee specialized pathways such as GLP-1 repeat prescription authorizations.
  • CQC & Regulatory Compliance (0.5 day/week): Act as the CQC Registered Manager, Caldicott Guardian, and Safeguarding Lead. Ensure full regulatory readiness by managing CQC inspections, coordinating incident and complaint investigations, executing audits, and reviewing patient safety alerts (CAS, NICE, MHRA).
  • GP Product & Operational Support (0.5 day/week): Support business development by helping build, refine, and launch new GP-led clinical services and products (such as weight management or private screening pathways). Line-manage and appraise GPs, partner with Operations on rotas and onboarding, and maintain our existing governance frameworks.
What We Are Looking For
  • Clinical Qualifications: Fully qualified General Practitioner with active GMC registration and inclusion on the NHS Performers List (or equivalent UK private practice credentials).
  • CQC Knowledge & Regulatory Experience: Practical experience with and strong working knowledge of CQC standards, framework requirements, and Caldicott Principles.
  • Digital Proficiency: Tech-savvy mindset with hands-on familiarity using modern digital tools, clinical software, and tracking performance via digital governance dashboards.
  • Product-Focused Mindset: Practical experience or strong interest in developing practical GP clinical products and services to expand private patient care options.
  • Team Collaboration: Clear communication skills to handle patient complaints constructively, support fellow GPs, and collaborate smoothly with operations.
What We Offer
  • Balanced Working Pattern: Guaranteed dedicated administrative time (1 day) alongside focused clinical sessions (2–3 days).
  • Modern Healthcare Environment: Work with modern digital software, structured dashboards, and dedicated administrative support.
  • Competitive Package: Attractive salary, Medical indemnity cover provided, and opportunities to shape new GP services in a growing healthcare company.
