Job summary

Queens Medical Centre is seeking a sessional General Practitioner to work five sessions per week. The role involves seeing patients face to face and by telephone, completing clinical administration, and sharing urgent and routine information with the practice team.

You will work within a supportive team of ANPs and practice nurses, using SystmOne, with opportunities to participate in clinical practice meetings and contribute to patient care targets. Full GMC registration is required.

Qualifications

• Medical degree required.
• Experience using the SystmOne clinical system.
• Full GMC registration.
• Experience or interest in training trainee GPs and trainee practitioners.
• GP registrar training and GP vocational training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality patient care.

• Share bloods, tasks, urgent enquiries and medical reports across the team.
• Undertake home visits when required.

Job description

A sessional General Practitioner post for five sessions at Queens Medical Centre, a growing practice with around 11,500 patients and a branch in Lynton. The GP sees patients face to face and by telephone, completes the clinical administration arising from those appointments, and takes a fair share of visits, bloods and medical reports. Each session runs to about four hours forty minutes, and the post sits within a team of ANPs and practice nurses. Full GMC registration is needed.

• Share bloods, tasks, urgent enquiries and medical reports across the team
• Undertake home visits when required
• Prescribe, refer, treat and advise patients
• Use in-house and external services when needed
• Respond to clinical queries from the wider team
• Contribute to the urgent and routine clinical task groups
• Support the wider clinical team, including ANPs, and other reasonable duties as required
• Attend and contribute to clinical practice meetings as required
• Maximise each patient encounter to meet contractual targets
