The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a sessional GP to join a growing practice network in Crawcrook, with branch surgeries in Rowlands Gill and Blaydon. The post involves 14 fifteen-minute face-to-face appointments per session, a share of home visits, bloods and medical reports, and a four-day commitment per week within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Full GMC registration and EMIS experience are essential, with opportunities to train trainees and contribute to clinical practice

Qualifications

• Medical degree and full GMC registration.
• Experience using EMIS clinical system.
• UK GP registerable qualifications preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide high-quality patient care through face-to-face and telephone consultations.
• Prescribe, refer, treat and advise patients.
• Undertake home visits when required, supported by the Rapid Response Team.
• Complete clinical administration for patients seen, including tasks and bloods.
• Share urgent and routine clinical task groups and medical reports across the team.
• Respond to clinical queries from the wider team.
• Use in-house and external services when needed.
• Attend clinical practice meetings and use the EMIS system.

This sessional GP post sits in the clinical team of a growing 20,500-patient practice in Crawcrook, with branch surgeries in Rowlands Gill and Blaydon. The core of the work is 14 fifteen-minute face-to-face appointments a session, with related clinical administration, plus a share of home visits, bloods and medical reports. The post is based on four days of full-time hours and is backed by physiotherapists, counsellors, care navigators and medicine management staff. Full GMC registration and EMIS experience are essential.

What the job involves

• Provide high-quality patient care through face-to-face and telephone consultations
• Prescribe, refer, treat and advise patients
• Undertake home visits when required, supported by the Rapid Response Team
• Complete clinical administration for patients seen, including tasks and bloods
• Share the urgent and routine clinical task groups and medical reports across the team
• Respond to clinical queries from the wider team
• Use in-house and external services when needed
• Maximise each patient encounter to meet contractual targets
• Support the wider clinical team, including being available to ANPs when required
• Attend and contribute to clinical practice meetings
• Use the EMIS clinical system
• Other reasonable duties as required
