Job summary

The Vicarage Lane Surgery in City of London is seeking a fully registered GP to join a busy practice serving around 10,000 patients. The role involves consultations, triage by phone, home visits when needed, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team across sites.

You will contribute to audits and QOF data, participate in the duty rota, and maintain high standards of patient care with strong communication and safeguarding of data.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
• Listed on NHSE medical performers list.
• Annual appraisal and revalidation when appropriate.
• Experience of chronic disease management and primary prevention/screening.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; data protection and confidentiality compliant.

Job description

This salaried GP post sits at The Vicarage Lane Surgery, a practice with around 10,000 registered patients, and works within a multi‑disciplinary team. The work centres on consultations, telephone and triage appointments, home visits when needed, and referring and reviewing patients' results. The role covers 6 to 8 sessions a week and includes a share of the duty doctor triage rota at the practice's other site. Applicants must hold GMC registration and be on the NHSE medical performers list.

What the job involves

• Provide high-quality patient care
• Conduct surgery, telephone consultations and triage appointments
• Conduct home visits when necessary
• Investigate and refer patients in line with guidance and local pathways
• Review results and correspondence promptly
• Liaise with colleagues and external providers to ensure seamless care
• Cover for colleagues when required
• Collect and review data for audit and QOF purposes
• Maintain communication with patients and carers
• Attend clinical, governance and educational meetings
• Take part pro rata in the duty doctor triage rota alongside another duty doctor at the opposite site
• Report and follow up on significant incidents
