Job summary

Charlotte Medical Practice in Dumfries is seeking a GP to join our team following the retirement of a senior partner. We welcome applicants for a GP Partner role, with salaried options and a pathway to partnership.

We serve about 9,500 patients from modern Health Board premises and offer a supportive multidisciplinary team, no out-of-hours commitment, and opportunities for education in ScotGEM and Aberdeen Medical School.

Qualifications

• GP with partnership or salaried route considered.
• Experience with teaching medical students welcomed.
• Interest in future development of the practice.
• No out-of-hours commitment.

Responsibilities

• Join a team of 6 GP Partners and allied staff.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to ~9,500 patients.
• Contribute to practice development and education within ScotGEM and Aberdeen Medical School collaborations.

Due to the retirement of our senior partner, Charlotte Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and committed GP to join our team.

Our preferred appointment is a GP Partner, and we would particularly welcome applications from doctors looking to play an active role in the future development of a successful, forward-thinking practice. However, we recognise that candidates may be at different stages in their careers, and a salaried appointment with a pathway to partnership would also be considered for the right individual.

Charlotte Medical Practice is a well-established, stable practice serving approximately 9,500 patients in the market town of Dumfries. We work from modern, purpose-built Health Board-owned premises and pride ourselves on providing high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive and friendly environment.

Our team currently comprises:

• 6 GP Partners
• 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners
• 2 General Practice Nurses

We are further supported by an excellent multidisciplinary team, including:

• General Practice Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians
• MSK Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner
• Community Nursing team based on site

We have strong relationships with colleagues across NHS Dumfries & Galloway and enjoy collaborative working with nearby practices, the Health Board and Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary.

We are actively involved in medical education and currently teach both ScotGEM and Aberdeen Medical School students.
