Job summary

DS Smith in Wakefield is seeking a General Operative for a short-term assignment to support the manufacturing/warehouse team. You will work a rotating schedule across days and nights to cover a one-week period, contributing to overall productivity.

Role involves standing for long periods, manual handling, and strict adherence to safety procedures. On-site position with a shift pattern starting 13th Sept and ending 19th Sept, with paid holiday benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect sheets of cardboard off the line and place on a pallet.
• Keep work area clean and tidy.
• Follow Health and Safety guidance at all times.
• Quality checking of products.
• Perform other duties as requested by the shift manager.

Job Description

Do you have previous experience within a manufacturing/production/warehouse environment? Are you looking for some temporary work? DS Smith in Featherstone are currently looking for 2 Operatives to support the team for the next week working 13 shifts.

Role: General Operative

Location: DS Smith Featherstone, Commonside Lane, Featherstone Wakefield, WF7 5DF

Rate: £15.79 per hour

Contract Length: 1 week - 13 shifts starting 13th Sept till 19th Sept

Hours: Sunday 13th Sept - Saturday 19th Sept

The shifts will be days 06:00-18:00 and Nights 18:00-06:00.

Responsibilities

• Collecting sheets of cardboard off the line and putting them on a pallet
• Keeping work area clean and tidy
• Working in line with Health and Safety guidance and processes at all times
• Quality checking product
• Completing any other duties relevant to the department as requested by the shift manager

Essential Requirements

• Can-do attitude
• Previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment desirable
