Astute People is recruiting a General Operative for the Midlands and North Yorkshire, supporting our Renewables Team in the operation and maintenance of renewable energy assets. You will carry out ground maintenance, mowing and vegetation management at sites, assist technicians, perform basic site checks and travel regionally.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, agriculture, construction or similar.
• Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment (mowers/strimmers) safely.
• Willingness to travel regionally and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a growing renewable energy business specialising in the operation and maintenance of renewable energy assets to recruit a General Operative to support their regional team in the Midlands and North Yorkshire.

The General Operative role comes with a competitive salary of up to £35,000, company vehicle, training and development opportunities, and the chance to build a long-term career within the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities and duties of the General Operative role

Reporting to the O&M Manager you will:

• Carry out general ground maintenance across renewable energy sites
• Mow, strim and maintain vegetation around operational sites
• Assist technicians with maintenance, manual handling and general site activities
• Carry out basic site checks and report any issues
• Use and maintain grounds maintenance equipment safely
• Travel regionally and provide occasional support at other sites when required
• Complete relevant training and ensure all work is carried out in line with company HSE standards

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, agriculture, construction or similar
• Experience using mowers, strimmer's or similar equipment would be advantageous
• Relevant machinery/equipment licences would be beneficial but not essential
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather and travel regionally
