Job summary

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust in Ashford is seeking a Trust Doctor in General Medicine (ST3) to cover the General Medicine on-call rota and subspecialty rotations. Posts are for 12 months with on-call duties and a 1:10 rota, offering experience across subspecialties such as HCOOP, Gastroenterology, Respiratory and Stroke.

The role provides a 40-hour shift pattern with opportunities to rotate to ITU or respiratory medicine, under a supportive department that handles ~70,000

Qualifications

• Clinical training and experience at ST3 level.
• Ability to manage a broad range of medical conditions.
• Ability to lead a multi-professional team.
• Experience in audit and management practices.
• Proven ability to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day medical care to patients on the Clinical Decision Unit.
• Cover on-call duties 1:10 with prospective cover.
• Develop experience in Respiratory medicine, TIA management or ITU rotations.
• Participate in training of junior medical staff and CPD.
