Job summary

Medway NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Clinical Trust Fellow (ST3+) in Gastroenterology to join our Gastroenterology and General Medicine team. You will support inpatient care and contribute to outpatient clinics under consultant supervision, helping deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• Primary Medical Degree and GMC registration with a licence to practice.
• MRCP and ALS certification.
• Experience across medical specialties with sound clinical judgement.
• Experience with core medical practical procedures and teaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical care for Gastroenterology and General Medicine inpatients.
• Participate in consultant-led ward rounds and review patients independently.
• Assess and manage acutely unwell patients and escalate concerns promptly.
• Develop and implement evidence-based management plans for GI and medical conditions.
• Support Gastroenterology and Hepatology outpatient clinics under supervision.
• Perform clinical procedures appropriate to grade and competence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care.
• Supervise and contribute to the education of junior doctors and students.
• Ensure safe, timely handover of patient care per Trust policies.
• Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement and governance activities.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to patient-centred care.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and mandatory training.
