Job summary

SER Limited is seeking a General Manager in Dorset to lead our established, family-run water engineering business. This senior role combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational delivery, maintaining the practical, customer-focused culture the company is known for.

You will oversee engineering, service, sales, administration and the trade counter, drive profitability, manage budgets and KPIs, and develop supplier and customer relationships while ensuring safe, efficient project

Qualifications

• Experience in water engineering, pumps and pumping systems, or wastewater.
• Experience with boreholes, private water supplies or water treatment.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing day-to-day business operations, engineering, service, sales, administration and trade counter activities.
• Improving planning, scheduling, resource utilisation and operational processes.
• Monitoring budgets, margins, labour utilisation, costs, KPIs and profitability.
• Developing customer and supplier relationships and identifying new commercial opportunities.
• Ensuring projects, service works and customer commitments are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.
• Overseeing stock, purchasing, supplier relationships and trade counter operations.
• Identifying operational improvements, reducing inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions.
