Job summary

The Baron of Beef in Cambridge is seeking a confident General Manager to lead a busy, historic pub. You’ll be at the heart of the operation, inspiring your team, driving sales and delivering memorable customer experiences in a welcoming, local environment.

Bring a strong commercial mindset, people leadership, and a Personal Licence or plan to obtain one. You’ll expand live music, karaoke, live sport and events, while upholding high standards of service, food, safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Confident, commercially minded pub leader
• Experience as GM, Pub Manager or experienced Assistant Manager
• Experience leading busy hospitality, retail or leisure business
• Strong commercial mindset to drive sales and profitability
• Ability to recruit, coach and develop a high-performing team
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• High standards and attention to detail
• Personal Licence, or ability to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Maximise our live sport offer across Sky Sports and TNT Sports.
• Create a welcoming environment for everyone – including our four-legged guests!
• Work closely with your Business Development Manager to deliver your business plan and achieve your targets.
• Champion high standards across every part of the pub, from service and food to safety and compliance.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a General Manager, Pub Manager or experienced Assistant Manager ready for their next step.
• Experience leading a busy hospitality, retail or leisure business.
• A strong commercial mindset and an eye for opportunities to drive sales and profitability.
• The ability to recruit, coach and develop a high-performing team.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• High standards and attention to detail.
• The confidence to make decisions, take ownership and get stuck in.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable customer experiences.
