Job summary

Greene King is seeking a General Manager for the Baron of Beef in Cambridge. You’ll lead the team, drive sales and preserve the pub’s historic charm while delivering memorable guest experiences in a busy community venue.

You’ll be responsible for commercial performance, staff development and creating a welcoming environment that integrates live events, sports and hospitality excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a General Manager, Pub Manager or experienced Assistant Manager ready for next step.
• Experience leading a busy hospitality, retail or leisure business.
• Strong commercial mindset and an eye for opportunities to drive sales and profitability.
• Ability to recruit, coach and develop a high-performing team.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• High standards and attention to detail.
• Confidence to make decisions, take ownership and get stuck in.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable customer experiences.
• Personal Licence, or the ability to obtain one.

What's the opportunity?

As General Manager, you'll have the freedom to make the business your own, building on everything that makes the Baron of Beef special while identifying new opportunities to grow.

You'll be at the heart of the pub, leading your team, driving sales and creating the kind of atmosphere that keeps customers coming back.

You'll have the opportunity to:
