Job summary

Leisure People in Newcastle is recruiting an experienced, hands‑on General Manager to launch a high energy indoor family entertainment centre in South Tyneside. You will lead 80 staff with 5 senior managers to deliver multiple attractions and a large F&B operation.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years GM experience in a high footfall leisure or hospitality setting, plus a focus on recruitment, safety culture and achieving admissions, party bookings, F&B and retail targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years GM experience in a high footfall leisure or hospitality operation.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Leadership and project management team with the fit out of the venue.
• Plan and deliver high volume recruitment campaigns/assessment centres for all front‑line positions.
• Be highly visible, leading, coaching and supporting your management and front‑line teams.
• Champion a safety‑first positive culture that energises members and visitors.
• Meet and exceed targets for admissions, party bookings, F&B and retail.
• Work closely with the marketing team, influencers and optimise all digital channels.
• Prepare and present at board level and to investors.
• Build and develop key partnerships with the Council and Community.
• Responsible for procurement and effectively managing stockholdings.
• Carry out duty management shifts and work a minimum of 1 weekend in 2.
