Job summary

D R Newitt Recruitment is seeking an experienced General Manager for a growing UK food business. Reporting to the owners, you will lead the operational function through the Operations Manager and Customer Service Manager, guiding a tight-knit team and shaping the next stage of growth.

You will drive warehouse, distribution and customer service excellence, build scalable processes and KPIs, develop managers, oversee UK logistics and export operations, and maintain Health & Safety and HACCP

Qualifications

Experience leading operational teams in an SME or founder-led business.
Ability to build scalable processes, SOPs and KPIs.
Strong forecast/budgeting skills with commercial orientation.
Experience with Health & Safety and HACCP standards.

Responsibilities

Drive operational excellence across warehouse, distribution and customer service.
Build scalable systems, SOPs and KPIs to support future growth.
Develop and challenge the management team, ensuring accountability.
Improve efficiency, service and cost control, including OTIF and cost-to-serve.
Oversee UK logistics and export operations as the business expands.
Own Health & Safety and HACCP standards across the business.
