Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Derby invites applications for a General Manager to lead a brand-new, highly automated logistics facility. You will mobilise, implement and shape the operational strategy, driving performance, innovation and customer service across warehousing, transport and distribution while building a trusted leadership team.

This is a ground-up transformation role: you will influence site design, oversee the go-live mobilisation, and partner with engineering, automation and support

Qualifications

• Proven General Manager or senior operational leadership experience within warehouse, transport or supply chain operations.
• Experience in start-up, mobilisation or implementation environments.
• Passion for leading people and creating exceptional workplace cultures.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership.
• Experience in highly automated environments or large transformation programmes.
• Experience managing senior customer relationships and stakeholders.
• Calm under pressure with resilience for complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end operation across warehousing, transport and distribution.
• Drive daily operational reviews and KPI-driven improvements.
• Build strong customer relationships as senior point of contact.
• Lead and coach operational leadership teams.
• Oversee mobilisation and implementation of brand-new automated operation.
• Collaborate with engineering and automation teams to optimise systems.
• Own site financial performance including budget management and P&L delivery.
• Ensure safety, security, compliance and governance.
