Salary: £35,000 + Bonus
Location: York

I'm looking for an experienced and enthusiastic General Manager to lead the team at an award-winning real ale pub, pizzeria and much-loved venue in York known for its exceptional hospitality, quality food and drink, and lively calendar of live music events.

This is a unique opportunity to take charge of a thriving, independent venue with a strong reputation and loyal customer base. You'll be responsible for delivering an outstanding guest experience, managing a passionate team, and driving the continued success of the business.

The Role:

• Lead daily operations across the bar, kitchen, and events
• Ensure consistently high standards in customer service, food, drink, and venue presentation
• Recruit, train, and develop staff to deliver excellence
• Plan and promote events, live music nights, and seasonal campaigns
• Manage budgets, stock control, staffing, and health & safety compliance
• Maintain strong local relationships and community involvement

You:

• Proven experience in a General Manager or similar role within hospitality
• Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
• A genuine passion for real ale, fresh food, and live music
• Commercially aware with the ability to manage budgets and drive sales
• Hands-on and proactive with a focus on customer experience and team development
