Kingsley Roofing Southern is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the operation and commercial performance of its growing division. Reporting to the Group Directors, you will drive sustainable growth, develop high-performing teams, and ensure exceptional delivery and customer service.

This strategic leadership role offers autonomy to shape the business direction and foster cross-group collaboration within Kingsley Roofing Group.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in the commercial roofing industry, ideally specializing in flat roofing.
• Proven track record leading roofing or construction businesses.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience overseeing estimating, tendering, procurement, and project delivery.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience developing high‑performing teams.
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities and improve business performance.
• Excellent organisational, financial, and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of Kingsley Roofing Southern, delivering on strategic and commercial objectives.
• Develop and implement business plans to drive growth, profitability, and efficiency.
• Identify and maximise new business opportunities within the commercial roofing sector.
• Oversee commercial activities including estimating, tendering, procurement, and client relationship management.
• Ensure high standards of project delivery, quality, safety, and financial performance.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Group Directors and Kingsley Roofing Group to maximise cross-selling opportunities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop departmental managers and teams; manage recruitment and succession planning.
• Monitor performance through financial reporting, KPIs, and operational metrics; implement improvements.

Kingsley Roofing Southern is seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead our growing business. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious leader with a strong background in commercial roofing to take ownership of the operational and commercial performance of a successful division within the Kingsley Roofing Group.

Reporting directly to the Group Directors, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership of the business, driving sustainable growth, developing high‑performing teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects while maintaining exceptional standards of customer service and operational excellence.

This is a strategic leadership position with significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape the future direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities

As General Manager, you will:

• Lead the day‑to‑day operations of Kingsley Roofing Southern, ensuring the business delivers on its strategic and commercial objectives.
• Develop and implement business plans that drive sustainable growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
• Identify and maximise new business opportunities within the commercial roofing sector.
• Oversee all commercial activities, including estimating, tendering, business development, procurement, and client relationship management.
• Manage the successful delivery of projects, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, programme, and financial performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with the Group Directors and wider Kingsley Roofing Group to maximise cross‑selling opportunities and strengthen client partnerships.
• Lead, mentor, and develop departmental managers and operational teams, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Take ownership of recruitment, performance management, training, and succession planning across the business.
• Monitor business performance through financial reporting, KPIs, and operational metrics, implementing improvements where required.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practice.

About You

We're looking for an experienced leader who combines strong commercial awareness with exceptional operational management skills.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Significant experience within the commercial roofing industry, ideally specialising in flat roofing.
• A proven track record of leading and managing successful roofing or construction businesses.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience overseeing estimating, tendering, procurement, and project delivery.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience developing high‑performing teams.
• Outstanding communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities and improve business performance.
• Excellent organisational, financial, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong IT literacy and experience using business management systems.
• Extensive commercial roofing experience gained within a contracting environment.
• Previous senior management experience within the construction industry (5+ years preferred).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
