Job summary

Protyre Autocare, part of The Micheldever Group, is seeking an Automotive General Manager with a strong customer focus to lead our centre and drive sales and service standards. You will report to the Area Manager and coordinate with Centre Managers to meet business objectives while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires proven centre management experience, a sales mindset, and technical/operational knowledge to maintain high workmanship quality.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence, held for at least 6 months (age restrictions may apply).
• Experience as Automotive Centre Manager or Assistant Centre Manager.
• Demonstrable success in a sales environment.
• Technical or Mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing and motivating the team, driving the team’s sales, and providing training to the team when necessary.
• Maintain the security of the branch, its stock, assets, customer information, and takings.
• The overall responsibility for maintaining and improving the technical, fitting standards, and quality of workmanship in the centre.
• Ensure appropriate stock profiles are maintained, reduce availability including old tyre patterns / slow moving / non-stock items are returned to suppliers / the warehouse.
• Ensure stock deliveries are stored and booked into stock on the day of delivery and regular auditing is carried out.
• Maintain accurate stock control systems and processes and make available for audit in accordance with company guidelines.
• Ensure that equipment and machinery is maintained and serviced regularly to allow safe operation.

Reporting to the Area Manager and be responsible for delivering the company business objectives through effective management and co-ordination of the Centre and Centre Managers whilst ensuring a high level of customer service, centre standards and taking a leading role dealing with customers.

About you:

• Proven success as an Automotive Centre Manager or Assistant Centre Manager
• Experience of working for a multi-site organisation
• Demonstrable success in a sales environment
• Technical or Mechanical experience
• Working knowledge of relevant Health & Safety requirements
• A high level of understanding of car technology
• Experience of continuous improvement planning
