A leading company specializing in heavy-duty equipment is seeking a General Manager to oversee sales and service operations in the UK. The ideal candidate will lead a team, manage significant budgets, and drive strategic initiatives to enhance performance and customer relationships.
We are seeking a commercially focused General Manager to advance our sales and service offerings in the UK. The ideal candidate will excel in building customer relationships, developing staff, and has experience in selling capital equipment and maintenance/service contracts.
£70,000 - £80,000
Field-based role, with flexibility to be based anywhere within 2 hours of Northampton, requiring occasional office presence.
Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Leicester, Luton, Oxford, Peterborough, Watford, Coventry
Reporting directly to the UK Managing Director, you will replace the retiring General Manager with a tenure of circa 30 years. You will oversee a division with a turnover of approximately £7m, split between equipment sales (£5m) and service revenue (£2m), leading a team of 5 direct and 15 indirect reports across the UK.
The successful candidate will be a sales-focused people leader with a proven track record in developing accounts and managing client relationships. Industry experience should include capital equipment manufacturing, with exposure to Vehicle Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle, Plant, Truck and Bus, Off Highway, Military, Defence, Tram, or Rail sectors.
