Job summary

Winberry in West Sussex is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a brand-new function under new ownership. You will be a hands-on, visible leader responsible for day-to-day operations, coordinating the team, and shaping the culture and growth strategy.

You will oversee quotations, customer relationships, and process improvements while interpreting engineering drawings and driving commercial performance.

Qualifications

• Proven quotation experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment – this is essential
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical information
• Experience managing and developing people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to motivate a team and get the best from people
• A practical, hands‑on approach to management
• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
• Experience or knowledge of powder coating processes would be advantageous

Winberry are working exclusively with an established steel manufacturing and fabrication business in West Sussex, now under new ownership, to appoint a General Manager who can make a genuine impact.

This is a brand-new position, giving you the opportunity to shape how the business operates, develop the team, influence the culture and help drive the next stage of its growth.

You’ll be a hands‑on, visible leader working closely with the owners, taking responsibility for day‑to‑day operations while bringing structure, accountability and commercial focus to the business.
