Kingston Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an Operations Manager for a growing manufacturing business in the Hull region. You will learn and support day-to-day operations, then take ownership of key responsibilities as the company evolves, with a potential path into senior leadership over 3–5 years.

You will bring a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, drive for continuous improvement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a management role within manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes ideally in plastics, metal, wood, or similar fabrication environments.
  • Commercial awareness with experience preparing quotations and costing work.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operational activities of the business.
  • Prepare accurate and commercially competitive customer quotations.
  • Ensure all job requirements are clearly communicated to the Production Manager, enabling efficient production planning and delivery.
  • Coordinate materials, suppliers, transport, and logistics to meet customer deadlines.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Identify operational issues early and implement effective solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Provide clear communication regarding quotations, lead times, project progress, and deliveries.
  • Support the continued development of online sales and e-commerce activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing systems, processes, and operational efficiencies.
  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team to support business growth and integration.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

The Candidate

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes ideally gained withing plastics, metal, wood, or similar fabrication environments.

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confident decision-maker with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
