Job summary

East London General Manager opportunity within a high-volume wet-led hospitality business. You will lead a large, capable team and drive day-to-day performance, setting strategy and maintaining high standards of service.

Reporting to operations leadership, you will own guest experience, P&L and revenue opportunities, while developing senior managers and coaching frontline staff in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven General Manager from high-volume hospitality.
• Experience leading sizeable front-line and senior teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with P&L experience.
• Deep understanding of the key operational levers behind sales, GP, labour and cost control.
• Calm, organised and decisive in fast-paced environments.
• A coaching mindset with a track record of developing people.
• Experience managing events or high-volume trading is advantageous.

General Manager – High-Volume Wet-Led Hospitality Business

The Opportunity

We are working with an independent, high-volume hospitality business in East London to appoint an outstanding General Manager. The successful candidate must have strong bars experience, and will absolutely know what good looks like when it comes to running an awesome hospitality venue.

You'll lead a large and capable team, and wont be the one having to do all of the do!

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the General Manager will have full accountability for the day-to-day performance of the venue, setting strategy as well as driving operational excellence.

You will lead a substantial operational team, working through a management structure that includes senior operational managers. Whilst being present at key time is vital, your focus will be on leadership, engagement and the training and development of your team.

Key responsibilities will include:

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a proven General Manager from a high-volume hospitality environment, ideally someone who has operated within a wet-led pub, bar, late-night, casual dining or experiential hospitality business.

You will ideally bring:

• Significant operational experience
• Strong leadership capability and experience managing sizeable teams
• Strong commercial acumen and confidence owning a P&L
• A detailed understanding of the key operational levers behind sales, GP, labour and cost control
• The ability to remain calm, organised and decisive in a fast-paced environment
• A natural coaching mentality, with a track record of developing people
• Experience managing events, functions or periods of particularly high-volume trading would be advantageous
• The resilience and energy required to lead a venue that is consistently busy
