General Litigation Solicitor - 2-4 PQE - South Wales

TSR Legal has recently been instructed to assist a well-established South Wales law firm as they look to strengthen their Litigation department with the appointment of an additional General Litigation Solicitor at 2-4 years PQE.

Our client has a long-standing presence within the South Wales legal market and advises both individuals and businesses across a broad range of contentious matters. The firm is now looking to add an experienced litigator to its team as it continues to develop its litigation offering and manage a strong flow of existing work.

The successful candidate will join a close-knit department handling a genuinely varied caseload rather than being restricted to one narrow area of litigation. The role would particularly suit a solicitor who enjoys general contentious work and is confident managing matters independently while still having access to experienced lawyers for support on more complex cases.

As a General Litigation Solicitor within the department, you will advise clients across a broad range of disputes, which may include contractual disputes, property-related litigation, professional negligence, consumer disputes, landlord and tenant matters and other general civil litigation work.

You will be expected to manage your own caseload from instruction through to resolution, including drafting correspondence and pleadings, advising clients on strategy, dealing with disclosure and witness evidence, liaising with counsel and experts and progressing matters in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules.

The firm is particularly keen to speak with solicitors who have a strong grounding in the CPR, are commercially aware and are comfortable building relationships with clients. There will also be scope to become involved in business development and contribute to the continued growth of the department.

The position is initially office-based, with hybrid working expected to be considered following successful completion of probation. The firm is also reviewing its working pattern with a view to offering greater flexibility around working hours.
