Evotec is seeking an experienced General Ledger Accounts Assistant for a fixed-term contract in Abingdon (Oxfordshire). The role offers hybrid working, a competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key duties include processing payments, ledger allocations, month-end reconciliations, fixed asset control, accruals, intercompany recharges, VAT, and assisting year-end statements. The ideal candidate will have solid GL experience, strong attention to detail, and familiarity with VAT

Qualifications

• Experience with general ledger processing and month-end activities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with VAT returns and statutory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process local and foreign payments.
• Allocate cash receipts and payments to ledgers.
• Perform month-end reconciliations and revaluations.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and related reconciliations.
• Monitor accruals and prepayments; ensure complete reconciliations.
• Examine intercompany recharges and post accordingly.
• Review credit card and travel transactions.
• Prepare VAT returns and intercompany postings.
• Assist with year-end statements and R&D tax credits claims.
• Support cashflow forecasting and SOX controls.
