Job summary

Amey is hiring a General Building Maintenance Operative for HMP Lindholme in Doncaster (DN7 6EE). Salary starts at £28,792 with a 15% weekend allowance. Hours are 39 per week on-site with a weekday pattern and occasional weekend work.

The role involves general maintenance across the site, assisting tradespeople, and DIY tasks such as decorating and furniture repairs. Prison DBS clearance is required with full Amey support.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in general maintenance or DIY.
• NVQ trade qualification or CITB (or similar).
• Reliable, team player with a good work ethic.
• Willing to learn and pick up new skills.
• Prison Security clearance and Standard DBS required – full support provided by Amey.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and basic repairs across site.
• Support tradespeople with day-to-day tasks.

• Escort contractors when required.
• Keep areas safe, tidy and well maintained.

Saturday to Sunday: 07:45 - 15:15

1 in 3 weekends (paid at +15%)
